Mosaic- “The Art of Board”
This original mosaic is made from over 300 hand-cut, individually selected pieces of recycled skateboards. Over 50 different types of decks were chosen to complete this unique body of work. “The Art of Board” was a work of passion and creative expression, requiring countless hours, over 1,000 cuts and pure satisfaction for me.
To find out when this piece comes to your town, check with your local shop or gallery or just contact me.
Poster- “The Art of Board” A scaled, full-color lithograph of the original piece. This poster allows each hand-cut piece to stand on its own. Every scrape and imperfection is visible and almost felt, just as the original. “The Art of Board” is the perfect compliment to any non-conforming space.
Posters can be purchased for $10, plus shipping, by contacting me or by visiting my links to find a shop near you.
Regrind will donate a portion of the proceeds from “The Art of Board” poster to the Tony Hawk Foundation and the Reid Menzer Memorial Skatepark.

Pepper Table - This one of a kind coffee table represents my prototype model, which was donated to The Tony Hawk Foundation. This mosaic in-lay of skateboard deck pieces exhibits raw expression and plenty of pop. A unique 3 legged design, this functional art is called the Pepper Table because of it’s pepper-like shape. The Pepper Table presented many challenges to build but the reaction was worth it. If the Pepper Table isn’t at your local shop, ask them why or contact me for lead times and other custom work. This table is designed to stabilize as skateboard magazines are stacked underneath. Enjoy!
Crooked Mirrors - Regrind´s signature mosaic- theme is well defined in my mirror collection. Measuring roughly 11.5” x14,” my Crooked Mirrors are a visual statement. They reflect the individual and independent nature of skateboarding, while indulging any divider of space. See yourself at a local shop near you or contact me to order your unique Crooked Mirror.
Deck-Mags - Each hand-cut Deck-Mag can ride any metal surface. Every scrape details a story of a board once ridden hard. Create your own mosaic on your fridge, locker… wherever. Deck-Mags come in packs of four and can be ordered through your local shop, or just contact me.
Staring at my nephew’s broken skateboards, a connection was made between my passion to create and the worn graphics each board possessed. Rather than pitching the decks, I put my carpentry skills to the test. The first creation was a picture frame for my nephew Jesse, followed by a hat-rack for my other nephew Bobby… and the requests continued. The gifts were a hit, while the process provided me an escape from the daily grind.
After the dust settled, I noticed a pile of scraps scattered on the ground beneath my saw. It seemed wasteful that I was unable to include these vibrant, textured pieces that remained… and then it hit me. I arranged the colorful scraps closely together in a small mosaic pattern, much like I had done with ceramics in the past. This was a defining moment for me and shaped the future of Regrind.
As my demand for decks increased, I began reaching out to skate shops in the area. The idea of recycling skateboards was intriguing to them and they were quick to support me. I then began to extend my resources, networking with over twenty shops in three states. These individually-owned shops were stoked to fuel my work, telling me that the art was sick. As the concept of Regrind evolved, I began creating my signature piece, fittingly entitled “The Art of Board.” This 25”x 36-1/2” original work defines my art in a free-flowing, framed mosaic, while representing the skaters who identify with each hand-selected piece.
